Welcome to the first installment of the SuperRare DAO monthly community newsletter — where we’ll cover happenings, updates, and news surrounding the SuperRare DAO. April was an exciting month, with a number of important milestones and successful events. Here are some of the DAO’s recent highlights:
Introduction to SuperRare Improvement Proposals
Our commitment to decentralization starts with the DAO. In the spirit of Web3, we envision a community of artists, tastemakers, operators, curators, and collectors to become the agents that establish and define our movement.
For us to get there, we introduced the first building block in the process called the SuperRare Improvement Proposal (SIP). The SIP empowers community members to submit ideas to the DAO to shape the evolution of SuperRare.
MILESTONES

The first SuperRare Improvement Proposal (SIP) went to a community vote and passed with a 99.6% vote, with over 13M votes from 176 participants.

The community has spoken, and with the power driven by these SIPs we re-whitelisted three former SuperRare Artists: Robness, Eric Rhodes, and Max Osiris.

The SuperRare DAO completed and passed the first SIP proposal (SIP-4) to donate the DAO commission fees collected from the Ross’s Ulbricht NFT sale on SuperRare to the nonprofit charity, Ulbricht Freedom Trust.

With SIP-5, the community captured 7.2M votes on Snapshot to approve the proposal to add additional payment methods to include $RARE, $DAI, $USDC, and $WETH.

ARTIFACT - ARTIFACT is an independent gallery space curated by ForeverLands team. ForeverLands is a curated and gamified art investment experience with a community of thousands of art collectors. Focused on quality over quantity, the team has been curating and buying art for the ForeverLands collection since 2021.
ARTIFACT seeks to discover true talent in underrepresented categories and communities and introduce them to the NFT space, providing them with support to make their first sales and establish a community around their work.

Space Race 2 has concluded
We collected 35 proposals from the community to become the second batch of Space Operators. This is incredibly exciting, as we concluded the weeklong voting period on March 22. 10 new Spaces have been selected by the community using the $RARE tokens.
