Introduction to SuperRare Improvement Proposals
Our commitment to decentralization starts with the DAO. In the spirit of Web3, we envision a community of artists, tastemakers, operators, curators, and collectors to become the agents that establish and define our movement.
For us to get there, we introduced the first building block in the process called the SuperRare Improvement Proposal (SIP). The SIP empowers community members to submit ideas to the DAO to shape the evolution of SuperRare.
MILESTONES
- SuperRare has partnered with Manifold and begun support for artist-owned minting contracts created using Manifold’s slick minting tools. Manifold has built a stellar product that provides artists more creative freedom to compose art without boundaries. We’re proud to support these artwork series and make them available to SuperRare’s collector community. Power to the artists!
- Our friends at Async Art have spent the past few years building an excellent platform for programmable art. We’re super excited to have kicked off a strategic partnership with Async, beginning with the artist Osinachi and his inaugural Blueprint series, Across the Face. Much more to come regarding the partnership with Async, with both further support for Blueprints and tighter integrations coming over the summer.
- Take a bow because the legendary Queen of Pop, Madonna, launched her first NFT with Beeple this month. The high profile moment culminated in Madonna & Beeple securing 305 ETH from the auctions during a week of harsh market conditions. All proceeds earned by the artists will be donated to three charities that were selected by Madonna, and there’s also a community-written SIP up on the forum to donate the DAO proceeds from the sale to charity as well. Oh, and Madonna picked up the mic on a live SuperRare Twitter Space.
- SuperRare Gallery NYC has officially opened up IRL, a pop-up that will be live in the heart of SoHo through August 28th. It’s an incredible moment for our community, and an opportunity to showcase both established and emerging artists in a physical gallery. If you’re visiting NYC this summer, be sure to visit the gallery, experience curated art, and pick up some SuperRare merchandise!

NEAL SPACE - NEAL SPACE dedicates to create a healthy ecosystem for digital artists and amplify the positive impact that the NFT Art community can make to the world. We hope to bridge the gap between virtual and physical world by curating high-quality exhibitions both online and IRL, with meaningful topics and top-notch artworks. We're now excited to become a member of SuperRare Spaces. SuperRare is where digital artists are discovered, introduced, respected and promoted. Our mission is to help digital artists world-widely expand their influences, market and careers in Asia, especially in Greater China.

MONOLITH Gallery - MONOLITH Gallery is an open curation platform that reimagines the gallery space. Artists and collectors can submit works from their collection to be considered for exhibition in one of the many halls designed by world-class artists. It aims to bring more visibility to more artists and also show the value of curation and what a great curator can do. Our SuperRare Space is meant to elevate exceptional artists that we discover on our open curation platform coupled with bringing in established artists to enhance visibility and provide mentorship.

Space Race 3
Space Race 3 officially concluded on May 30th, electing another 10 Space Operators. This brings the total of Space Operators in the SuperRare Network to 25! We’ll be sharing the Space Race 3 winners in our next newsletter.
The date of the next Space Race is TBD as we are in the process of sourcing an alternative to Mirror’s Token Race product, which they are sunsetting. If you’re a developer or dev team, we’re putting together a bounty through the SIP Can the Devs do something $RARE to fund development of a voting tool to replace the Token Race.
